I will NOT ever NEVER eat a tomato

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Charlie & Lola with a special
Funky Lunch sandwich!

Hip Hip Hooray! We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the utterly original and award-winning Charlie and Lola picture book “I Will NOT ever NEVER eat a Tomato”

Follow our guide to creating your own Charlie or Lola sandwich and then enter it into our fantastic competition. See below for details.

you will need...
bread - sandwich filling - cheese slices - cucumber - rice paper

Make your sandwich using the bread and filling and then cut out the shape of the head, giving Charlie a pointed chin or Lola a more oval shape.

Using the cheese slices, shape the hair by following the contour of the head and giving each one a sweeping fringe.

To make the eyes use the flesh of a cucumber and cut into an oval shape. The pupils are made from cucumber skin cut into small circles or semi-circles and placed to show where they are looking.

Use some thin strips of cucumber skin to make a zig-zag shaped nose and v-shaped mouth.

The finishing touches to the hair are made using thin lengths of cucumber skin laid across their heads and eyes as loose strands. Add some coloured rice paper bows to Lolas hair.

Wash your sandwich down with a nice refreshing glass of pink milk!
